Camp Photographer

Job Title: Camp Photographer
Reports To: Administrative Director
Number of Positions Available: 1

The goal of this position is to enhance the interactive experience of our camper’s parents by offering them the opportunity to see camp through photos posted daily on Facebook.

This role requires someone who is able to work independently, with minimal supervision. The daily routine includes: visitation of all the basketball and activity areas to capture photos of our athletes and staff, as well as alteration and uploading of these photos to Facebook several times a day. Our mandate is that a parent should see a basketball photo, a water or land activity photo, and a friendship photo each day.

Candidates must have experience using Facebook, as well as access to a laptop
This person would work indirectly with children but would need to possess an interest in working with children so as to preserve the fun environment of camp.

In addition to responsibilities during the day, this role has evening expectations as well. The camp photographer would be required to take photos of our daily evening programs.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend Staff Orientation week in late June.
  • Experience working with a Nikon or Canon Camera.
  • Be knowledgeable in all safety procedures: including fire, land and aquatic emergency procedures.
  • Create and execute a weekly photography schedule to ensure all camp sections are photographed equally at camp.
  • Photograph during evening programming
  • Upload photographs daily to Facebook.
  • Organize/sort photos into files for offseason marketing purposes
  • Other duties as assigned.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 17 years of age.
  • Genuine interest and experience in photography.
  • Genuine interest in working at a residential camp.
  • Must be an outgoing, self-starter type person.
  • Must be an enthusiastic, energetic and positive person.
  • Must be willing to take part in camp related activities outside the defined job description.
  • Familiar with programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office Suite and Apple iMovie.

Cleaning Assistant

Job Title: Cleaning Assistant
Reports To: Administrative Directors
Number of Positions Available: 1

The Cleaning Assistant will be expected to uphold the Elite Camps standards of safety and cleanliness, by ensuring common areas around the facility are clean and tidy. These areas include but are not limited to: Common Touch Surface Areas, Camper / Staff Bathrooms, Main Office, Health Centre and Dining Hall. This staff member must have an interest in keeping the facility clean and sanitized while ensuring to always keep personal, camper and staff safety a top priority.

This person would work indirectly with children but would need to possess an interest in working with children.

Camp Facility #2

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide care to our campers that reflect the standards and guidelines of the Elite Camps.
  • Must have a general interest in keeping the camp community clean, presentable and safe for campers and staff.
  • Create and execute your job in productive, professional and fun manner.
  • Ensure to always wear/follow proper safety guidelines when completing tasks.
  • Be an active participant in the camp community.
  • Sign and abide by Elite Camps Privacy Policy.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cleaning Assistant will be responsible for the daily cleaning and stocking supplies in common use spaces such as camper/staff bathrooms, Main Office, Health Centre and Dining Hall.
  • Continuous cleaning of common touch surface areas around camp.
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday as well as the odd Saturday or Sunday.
  • Assist cleaning staff when needed.
  • Will be asked to pick up supplies from the local hardware stores.
  • May be asked to periodically travel longer distances in a camp vehicle, to pick up/purchase camp related items.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Maintenance Assistant

Job Title: Maintenance Assistant
Reports To: Facility Manager
Number of Positions Available: 2

The Maintenance Assistant will aid the Facility Manager in various daily maintenance tasks around the site. These include but are not limited to: assembling bunks, cabin repairs, lawn care, painting, shoveling, raking, etc. A valid G license is required, as many of the tasks will involve driving. It is the responsibility of the maintenance team to uphold the Elite Camps standards of safety and cleanliness; as such, the maintenance assistant must possess a keen awareness of, and ability to handle, any situations that may compromise these standards. As well, the maintenance assistant must keep personal, camper, and staff safety a top priority.

This person would work indirectly with children but would need to possess an interest in working with children.

Camp Facilities

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide care to our campers that reflect the standards and guidelines of Elite Camps.
  • Must have a general interest in keeping the camp community looking presentable and safe for campers and staff.
  • Create and execute your job in productive, professional and fun manner.
  • Ensure to always wear/follow proper safety guidelines when completing tasks.
  • Be an active participant in the camp community.
  • Sign and abide by Elite Camps Privacy Policy.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will be asked to complete minor construction tasks (shovelling sand, raking, helping with tree removal, etc.)
  • Will need to complete minor building projects (assembling bunks, siding repairs, cabin repairs, window replacement, painting, etc.).
  • Be knowledgeable in all safety procedures: including fire, land and aquatic emergency procedures.
  • Will work Sunday to Friday, hours will vary depending on maintenance work that needs to be completed as well as weather. May need to work the odd Saturday.
  • Must be able to use basic lawn care equipment (riding a lawn mower, push mower, grass trimmer, leaf blower, etc.).
  • Basic mechanic knowledge a plus.
  • Assist Head of Maintenance when needed.
  • Do daily garbage pickups around camp (changing garbage bags and taking them to the appropriate area).
  • Will be asked to pick up supplies from the local hardware stores.
  • May be asked to periodically travel longer distances in a camp vehicle, to pick up/purchase camp related items.
  • May be asked to assist with plumbing repairs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Camp Administrator

Job Title: Maintenance Assistant
Reports To: Camp Director
Number of Positions Available:1

Camps. During the summer, they will help with general registration, Parent Rep (PR), and various additional summer administrative tasks.

Specifically, the Parent Rep responsibilities involve working cooperatively amongst members of the leadership Team as the leading point of contact with campers, their parents, and Elite Camps staff. They may also be asked to step in on serious camper issues and other camper satisfaction-related issues as they arise through the summer. The PR work closely with all staff teams to ensure camper health and well-being while at Elite Camps.

This role is a designated office position, with camper and staff interaction.

Camp Facilities

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • All staff are expected to abide by and enforce camp guidelines of respect. These are the rules and expectations of behaviour implemented to maintain a fun and safe camp environment.
  • All staff are responsible for the safety and security of each camper at camp.
  • Attendance for all staff to the June training is mandatory. This training period is where each staff will receive essential employment information and training for a successful summer experience.
  • The dynamic nature of summer camp demands each staff understand that additional duties may be assigned as required.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with all aspects of camper registrations, sign-ins, and sign-outs
  • Generate daily paperwork for coordinators – attendance, medical reports
  • Communicate daily with onsite coordinators about feedback from parents and campers
  • Assume the responsibility of Parent Communications Representative.
  • Be the main source of communication between parents and campers when campers are at camp.
  • Manage and proactively resolve parent inquiries & requests ensuring efficient and timely response to email and telephone enquiries on a daily basis.
  • Facilitate the daily management of all Lost & Found items.
  • Organize Buses
  • Run the Camp Shop 2x per day & track inventory & order when necessary
  • Ensure proper medical issue reporting
  • Track Staff Payroll Changes
  • The Administrator must keep all staff, camper and Elite Camps business related information confidential and private, in adherence to Elite Camps’ Privacy Policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assist the camp leadership team with weekly tasks as required.
  • Be available to assist Camp Directors as required.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Completed at least one year of a relevant post-secondary school program.
  • Currently holding or willing to obtain a minimum Emergency First Aid & CPR certificate.
  • Genuine interest in working with children.
  • Experience working with children of varied ages (specific camp experience an asset).
  • Must be enthusiastic, energetic, and positive.
  • Exceptional communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Computer/technology skills an asset.
  • Highly organized and independent worker.
